Clock Settings – Automatic Movement
For Sub Style, GMT, Date J and AP Oak watches:
Thank you for trusting us to build your new watch. We'll help you familiarize yourself with your handcrafted timepiece and explain how to set it.
Motion:
Previous models use the NH35 (Sub Style, Date J, AP Oak) or NH34 (GMT) automatic movements.
These are automatic mechanical movements, meaning they do not use a battery and are powered by movement or by winding them manually.
To wind up the movement:
During shipping or when not used for a while, the movement may lose power and the watch may stop.
This is completely normal: you just need to wind it up again or shake it gently depending on the remaining charge.
A full charge requires between 55 and 65 full turns of the crown and offers a battery life of more than 40 hours .
To wind it up:
-
Unscrew the crown (turn it towards you) until you hear a “click”.
-
Then, turn it clockwise (outwards) between 20 and 50 times , depending on how much charge you need.
This will wind up the spring and restart the automatic movement.
Adjust the date, GMT and time:
-
To set the date , unscrew the crown (towards you) until it pops out and then gently pull until you feel the first click .
Turn counterclockwise (towards you) to adjust the date. -
If your model is GMT , in that same position turn clockwise (outwards) to adjust the GMT needle.
Keep in mind that one full revolution of the GMT hand equals 24 hours , while the hour hand represents 12 hours.
This coincides with the 24-hour bezel. -
To set the time , pull the crown out once more to its outermost position .
Next, turn the crown clockwise (outwards) to set the time.
⚠️ Only turn clockwise in this position, as turning counter-clockwise can cause unnecessary strain and reduce the lifespan of the movement.
Secure the crown:
Once the setup is complete, push the crown inwards and turn it clockwise (outwards) until it is fully screwed in and sealed.
This is necessary to ensure that the crown is completely closed and to prevent dust or moisture from entering.
